Short answers to what people ask first. If yours isn’t here, write to us.
A service that tells you what the law says, with the official source of every number, and what it means for a business: what it must file and pay and by when, in the United States, California and Delaware, and one paycheck's federal and California income tax withholding. How it works, step by step, is on the How it works page.
From the official publications themselves: the IRS’s Publication 15-T and the California EDD’s Method B tables. A rate or bracket enters montaye only after a person has reviewed it, and every answer names the publication and passage it came from.
Before a table is published, montaye recomputes the authority’s own worked examples, and every one must match to the cent. Each answer also names the revision of every fact it used, so it can be checked later.
Use Get a key: a trial key is issued at once, with no account. With an account, make and revoke keys under Account › API keys. A key is shown once and montaye keeps only its hash, so store it somewhere safe.
100 paycheck computations, and reading your usage as often as you like. When they are used, calls are refused with the code trial_exhausted.
A free account includes a hundred paycheck computations a month; paid plans include more, by the month. Past a plan's allowance calls are refused, never billed as overage. Pricing lists them all.
Over REST or MCP. Point it at /llms.txt: everything it needs to start is there, and the full API description is at /openapi.json.
It refuses with a stable code and a short explanation, never a guess. Each code has its own page under /refusals.
No. montaye reports what the official sources say and the calculations that follow from them. Decisions about your own situation are yours, or your adviser’s.
