1. The service
montaye answers questions about tax law and computes what follows from it, over REST and MCP and on this site. What it covers today is listed in the documentation. It will grow, and it can change.
2. Keys and accounts
A key is for you or your agent. Keep it secret: anything done with it is done in your name. Trial keys are issued without an account and are limited to the trial plan.
3. Fair use
Do not use montaye to break the law, to attack the service, or to get around its limits. We may refuse, limit or close a key that does.
4. Not advice
montaye reports what official publications say and computes from them. It is not tax, legal or accounting advice, and it does not know your circumstances. Check what matters before you rely on it.
5. Accuracy
Each answer names its sources and the revision of every fact it used, so it can be checked. When montaye cannot answer with confidence, it refuses rather than guesses. Mistakes are still possible; if you find one, tell us and we will correct it.
6. Plans and payment
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. A plan includes a number of paycheck computations a month; past it, calls are refused, never billed as overage. A larger plan starts at once and is prorated; a return to the free plan takes effect when the paid month ends. Taxes may apply.
7. Liability
The service is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, montaye is not liable for indirect losses, or for decisions made on its answers.
8. Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. If you pay for a plan, we will tell you before a change takes effect.
